GOALS ABERDEEN OFFERING SUPPORT THROUGH FOOTBALL
Goals Aberdeen and Cove Youth FC (CYFC) collaborated to provide free football coaching sessions, offering kids an escape through sport. The classes were introduced to Ukrainian children who had been given residency in Aberdeen following recent events in their home country. The refugees arrived into the community and were put into school, hotels and areas with little time to adjust and make friends.
CYFC were able to facilitate these sessions with the help of our management team at Goals Aberdeen. Despite the challenges faced in language barriers, the coaches managed to overcome this through the use of Google translate. After the basics were established, the children managed to kick off with passing drills, finishing off with a team match.

SHARED DEVOTION TO THE BEAUTIFUL GAME
Moreover, Goals Aberdeen have shown further support to the footballing community, offering those who are visually impaired the chance to play the game they love. The pitch surround is made up of rebound boards which allow an acoustic echo to help aid players in their own position during play.
Goals Aberdeen's, Brian Johnston set up visually impaired sessions on Tuesday mornings and urges anyone who feels they could benefit from them to get in touch to join in. Greg, an attendee recently shared just how much the classes have meant to him in the form of a card to Brian. Greg said, "Thanks for being a great coach. I know it couldn't always been easy but you have been brilliant. Thanks for getting me back in football and making it so much fun!"
