GOALS JOINS THE CIRCUIT TO HELP SAVE LIVES IN LOCAL COMMUNITIES

GOALS have taken another big step in putting player and community safety first by joining The Circuit – the National Defibrillator Network. This means that every GOALS club’s defibrillator is now registered with emergency services, helping to save lives in critical situations.

With cardiac arrests a real and serious risk in football and beyond, having immediate access to a defibrillator can mean the difference between life and death. By joining The Circuit, we’re making sure that if someone in the local community suffers a cardiac arrest, 999 call handlers can direct people to the nearest GOALS defibrillator, increasing the chances of survival before paramedics arrive.

At GOALS, we’ve always put safety at the heart of the game:

• All 43 clubs have a defibrillator on-site
• All staff are First Aid trained
• All managers have enhanced First Aid and Defibrillator training

David Newland, General Manager at Goals Tolworth headed this project and has been instrumental in ensuring the successful registration of all 43 club defibrillators. David commented on the project:

"Having been involved in two separate incidents where a defib has had to be used at GOALS, I've witnessed first-hand how important they are in potentially saving someone's life. Having all GOALS clubs registered on The Circuit, means we are playing a crucial role within our local communities."

By working together with the British Heart Foundation, we’re making sure that our facilities aren’t just for football, but for protecting lives in the wider community. At GOALS, we've committed to raising life-saving funds and creating awareness in support of the British Heart Foundation. So far, we have raised almost £30,000 for the charity through various fundraising activities at clubs and within our Head Office.
