As the final whistle blows on Euro 2024, we look back on a tournament that was nothing short of spectacular. From stunning goals to dramatic penalty shootouts, it’s been a rollercoaster of emotions that’s united nations and sparked endless debates in pubs, living rooms, and, of course, in our very own clubhouses. With 43 clubs across the UK; 3 in Scotland and the other 40 in England, there was plenty of friendly rivalry going on behind closed GOALS clubhouse doors! Let’s dive into the highlights, the heartaches, and the unforgettable moments that made Euro 2024 a tournament to remember.

Every tournament has its standout stars, Euro 2024 was no different. Emerging talents and seasoned veterans alike dazzled us with their skills and sportsmanship. From the young prodigy, Lamine Yamal who made a name for himself, and Cristiano Ronaldo leading Portugal with unmatched passion, gave us performances we'll be talking about for years. And, who could forget Jude Bellingham, with his stunning late overhead kick equaliser! Every match brought a new story, a new hero, and another reason to gather to celebrate the beautiful game.

England's journey to the Euro 2024 final was marked by strong performances and resilience. They kickstarted with a win against Serbia but then drew against Denmark and Slovenia. Followed by a memorable win against Slovakia and a draw against Switzerland, which went to penalties. We saw a dramatic win against the Netherlands in the semi-finals with a last-minute goal from Ollie Watkins taking them 2-1, highlighting the teams nerve and skill. Despite their spirited efforts, England ultimately fell short against Spain in the final, just four minutes before time. However, their impressive run solidified their place among Europe's elite teams and inspired their fans for future success.

Let’s not forget the real MVPs of Euro 2024 – the fans. Even those who couldn’t be there in person for the big games found ways to join the celebration. It’s this sense of community and shared passion that makes football more than just a game – it’s a way of life. Albeit a short stint, Scotland fans highlighted their passion and brought energy to the German cities, showing other nations that without them, there is no party. "No Scotland, No Party" was heard ringing out for weeks.

Beyond the goals and the glory, Euro 2024 was a reminder of football’s unique power to bring people together. GOALS hosted watch parties, themed local tournaments, launched food and drink packages, special offers, and giveaways.
